Weight Loss And Swimming

Swimming is regarded as a form of exercise and as such is also considered as a contributor to weight loss. Studies have shown that exercising on land and in water can give you an equivalent amount of burned calories. You can begin losing those unwanted pounds from your body if you get started as soon as possible.

Begin your routine by swimming about 10 laps in the pool. One can pick from any of the swimming strokes they are most comfortable with, like back stroke, breast stroke, or the butterfly stroke. After your body has grown accustomed to 10 laps gradually increase the amount of laps until you reach your comfort limit. Be sure that you know the proper way of doing the swimming technique that you want to use - there is no need to injure yourself just because the way you did the technique was wrong.

Once you get to swim over 10 laps, add a little variation to those laps so you won’t get bored. For example, you swim 50 laps per day - make 10 leisurely laps, 30 sprint laps, and 10 moderate laps. The more intense the work-out the more unwanted fats you lose.

Take a one- or two-day break from your swimming regimen so that your body will be able to recover. A controlled diet and a dedication to swimming and land-based exercises will really help you in easily achieving your dream body. A note of warning though, there are cases when the swimmer’s appetite is whetted after a good swim (particularly if you have been swimming in cold water), try to curb your appetite after you finished your routine, this way you will be more successful in your endeavour.

Swimmers can swim in pools treated with pool chemicals because they have no harmful effect on the individual. The pool remains sparkling, free of growth, and has clean water because of swimming pool chlorine tablets. A shower is the best way to remove any pool chemicals that may still remain on your skin, which is why this should be done as soon as you finish each swimming session. Of course they would not let people to swim while they are treating the pool, but it still does not hurt if you took a little precaution on your own, would it?

1000 meters long swimming pool

World’s largest swimming pool

While I am stuck on this cold weather its not amusing at all to see people having a great time on swimming pools it makes a wii bit jealous. I sincerely hope that this year we have similar type of weather we had last summer. I was browsing through few interesting facts on the Net over the weekend and came across the world’s largest pool video on YouTube. Just the look of the pool was so beautiful that I had the urge to go there sooner than later.

The world’s largest swimming pool is San Alfonso del Mar seawater pool in Algarrobo, Chile. It is approximately 1,020 meters long and covers upto 20 acres. It was completed in December 2006 and holds upto 66 million gallons of water. Just imagine how many pool covers they would need to cover up the whole pool. I am just intrigued to know how they would clean this swimming pool. To clean the swimming pool my house I know the swimming pool chemicals I need to clean the pool costs me a fortune in monthly basis, I just curious to know how much they would need to spend to keep this pool clean. I will definitely ask them these questions when I get to Algarrobo.

While I was browising through this pool, my other half glazed at me with innocent eyes and said I so wish we were there this Valentines. Those words made me think about may be she is right may be we should have been away this Valentines. I thought about her words all night long and then I decided may be I should take her there for our anniversary this April. This will definitely be a lovely surprise for her. It would have been a great surprise if I actually took her there without telling her where we would be going but that cannot be done because she will need to take time off work.

It also seems like you can various different activities on the pool other than just swimming such as wake boarding, scuba diving and water skiing. I am very much looking forward to this holiday.

How often do I have to use swimming pool chemicals

Having the correct amount of swimming pool chemicals in the swimming pool water is the answer to a healthy pool. Algae growth will be minium and the water not turn green and will look clean and clear.

Water is generally clear and clean during the winter in the swimming pool, even though very little has been done to it. Hardly ever the pool turns green during the winter time and algae do not appear. If algae do occur the growth is very slow. You should keep cleaning and maintaining the swimming pool, so that it is ready to use anytime.

How many times a month should I use the pool chemicals?

Use the pool chemicals two times every month to deal with algae and dead bacteria. When you do the filtering process most of these waste materials would have been removed but some will still remain and this can cause skin and eye irritation.

Testing the swimming pool?

pH level measures the acidity in your pool so make sure to use this to test your swimming pool. For Chlorine to work properly the balance of the ph level needs to be stable. After this the pool filtering system will keep the water crystal clear and healthy. Akalinity and Sanitiser can also be used to test your swimming pools.

Few people asked me questions on is there a chemical that changes colour of the water if someone urinates in the pool. There are no such chemicals to change colours when someone urinates in the pool. Though there are dyes to change the colour of the water.

After the chemicals have been applied in the pool cover the swimming pool with swimming pool covers and let the chemical do the work, this will ensure your pool is clean and ready to be used.
