Whether It Is The Great Swine Flu Epidemic ?
In the whole world the center of all news has been swine flu from April 2009. First cases were found in Mexico and a few cases of death have been reported. There is a concern among the health department officials as well as governments around the world whether swine flu outbreak is a pandemic. The question doing the rounds is whether this the great swine flu epidemic? There is a fear in the minds of people if it is similar to the flu pandemic of 1918 which killed millions and was as deadly as this one.
Clinical Studies have confirmed the cause to be the result of the H1N1 virus strain. It is a re-assortment of human influenza virus, avian influenza virus and swine influenza virus. The reassortment has proven to be tougher for the human immune system to counter.Swine flu symptoms that are seen among those infected include high fever, vomiting, cough, sore throat, diarrhea and muscle pain. Among the complications that may occur are pneumonia and respiratory failure.
The concerns about it’s spread worldwide have led the World Health Organization (WHO) to issue it as threat level of Phase V in its scale of six. As on 1st May 2009, there were reports of 176 people who had died due to the infection in Mexico. There were thousands who had reported sick. To avoid further outbreak and to help contain the spread schools, workplaces, companies and other areas were shut for some days. There were about 145 cases of infection reported only in US. 15 other countries have confirmed cases of its occurrence. Altogether 4400 cases are imagined to be there. The CDC feels that it may not be a pandemic or as severe as it was initially thought to be. This is because outside Mexico the cases reported have been mild and mostly treated successfully. As the H1N1 strain is of poorly virulent type so it cannot transmit quickly.
The major cause of concern for the WHO and others around the world is that they have been unable to develop an effective swine flu vaccine against this H1N1 virus strain. It may be ready only by June 2009. Moreover as the virus can easily spread directly from person to person through sneezing and coughing it is a bit difficult to easily bring it under control. With preventive measures being followed like frequent washing of hands, use of tissue while sneezing and coughing and avoiding contact with the infected persons the chances for its control seem brighter. There have been some recent reports from city officials from New York that the spread has not been beyond a few schools. Even in Mexico few relatives of swine flu victims have caught the virus. According to the Federal health officials the new virus do not contain deadly genes of the virus that caused the 1918 epidemic.
Though it is hard to point out if it’s an epidemic or not, it is better to prepare for the worse. Experts feel that there are lots of thing to know and understand and a thorough study is necessary. It is a collective effort on the part of the patients, the public as a whole, health departments and experts to work towards ensuring that thedeadly swine flu does not spread anymore and is contained securely. The new Swedish disinfectant, Smittstopp, disinfect forward in time and will be a great help.

Getting Old And Getting Beautiful
Women are vain - that is a fact. However, some women lose their confidence as they age. This is because they begin to feel old. But being forty or fifty nowadays is not old anymore - it is a beginning of a new chapter in your life. And with new trends, new technology and new things, you would surely feel anew altogether.
The best way to look young is to feel young. Taking care of yourself is perhaps the first step to take care of your looks. In addition, using some anti-aging products such as eye creams and anti-wrinkle creams can definitely help your skin stay young, resilient and smooth. But if you do not want to use so many types of creams, try to stick to keeping your eye area young-looking.
Perhaps your first anti-aging cream should be an eye cream because the eyes are the first areas which show aging. There are many products and brands in the market nowadays which promise to protect your delicate eye area, like Lancome eye cream, Clinique and Estee Lauder, just to name a few.
If you are finding something to match with all your outfits, try on a brown boot. Yes, boots can make your legs look longer, and your height look higher. This gives you more confidence in yourself, and makes you feel beautiful about yourself - even at fifty, perhaps. You can pair them up with skirts, dresses and jeans, and are comfortable, too.
Makeup, when you get old, should be kept at a minimal - but just enough to cover your blemishes and to enhance your features. A simple eyebrow liner, curled lashes, and brown or coral palettes are enough to make you look beautiful. Never put too much makeup, and always remember not to put too much color.
If you do not want to wear your saggy jeans or your baggy pants, then why not invest in a good pair of skinny jeans? Whoever said that these were solely for young people, anyway? Whether you are 40 or 50, you still have the curves to flaunt - and these kinds of jeans are the perfect ones to flatter your shape.
As you add years to your age, your beauty doesn’t have to diminish at all. Wear your best smile, and feel beautiful about yourself - you would definitely look much younger than you actually are.

Becoming healthy requires commitment to both eating right and incorporating exercise into your regimen. Exercising, however, is not easy to make a habit for many individuals who are looking for a way to get in shape without realizing that’s what they’re doing. Nothing is more boring and repetitive than listening to your feet slap against the motorized and moving platform of a treadmill as you run nowhere inside of a gym like a lab rat.
The truth of the matter is that winter offers an abundance of sports that are challenging, invigorating, and fun which makes keeping the pounds off an easy prospect. Skiing and snowboarding are popular sports with ample instructors and schools ready to teach you a more fun way of getting in shape than running or hiking.
Jumping right into a sport like skiing or snowboarding can be difficult, so starting off with something like cross-country skiing will allow you to acclimate to cold weather exercise and help build up your endurance. Strap on your digital sport watch and time how long you can go without stopping and over a short number of weeks you’ll see the time increase and your body grow stronger.
With the weather so cold, it can easily be overlooked that your body is being taxed. Medical considerations also extend to the need to be safe. Skiing is a high-speed activity with falling down being not a rare consequence and so wearing a ski helmet is imperative for all levels of skiers.
Skiing tones the legs and core, while being kind on the joints and tendons. Also because skiing can burn up to 500 calories an hour, hydration is a must for any winter related activity since the weather can deceive an exerciser from noticing the exertion their body is expending.
While skiing is considered a classical sport, snowboarding has become quite popular over the last decade exploding from an underground activity to an Olympic sport. Because boarders need to steer the snowboard, ankle and foot muscles as well as the calves, quads, and hamstrings are all similarly taxed in the interest of moving down the mountain. Helmets are as paramount in snowboarding as in skiing and with the sartorial rules thrown out the window you can show up with anything from a standard black helmet to one of your own creation.
Snowboarding is about fun and individuality as well as being a proper and tiring exercise. Finding what is right for you in the realm of winter sports can make the winter months fly by and your exercise regime take a turn in a uniquely different direction.
