Choosing Body Building Supplements
If you plan on doing body building as more than a “once in a while” hobby, you should think about body building supplements to help you keep your body healthy. Regular body builders and professional body builders take many different supplements. They do this because this is a sport that regularly tears down muscles and joints. All body builders realize they can do it naturally and without support, but it’s an individual choice they make in the end. If you have been thinking about taking supplements to help you with your body building, talk to your doctor. In the mean time, here are some of the standard supplements that get recommended.
There’s a particular class of hormone called growth hormones, and it’s in wide use by very many body building athletes. In the weight lifting market they’re referred to as HGH hormones. HGH is a natural substance that is produced by the pituitary gland, and while it serves many processes; overall it helps to keep your body healthy. Once a person hits 30 years old, approximately, the amount secreted begins a slow decline. Well, obviously 30 isn’t old at all - and a lot of body building athletes continue lifting well past that age. There you have it, the main reason so many lifters like taking HGH. The synthetic variety is effective and works, but it’s not quite the same as what occurs naturally.
Nitric Oxide (NO), is an extremely common molecule used as a supplement. This substance occurs naturally in the body in the gaseous state, and it is vital for intercellular communications. But the reason body builders like to use it is because it increases the amount of blood flow. So, if you increase the flow of blood, then you’ll naturally speed-up the availability of other supplements in the body. The body produces this gas naturally, but many body builders take supplements because, as they continue working out, they have a higher need for it.
For a little more lively debate, there is the supplement class of anti-estrogens. As you may know, both men and women have estrogen and testosterone; however, both genders have both hormones in different quantities. There’s a lot going on here, but one thing is that testosterone production is halted by the pituitary by command of estrogen. The body needs testosterone to maintain strength. The reasoning is that you’ll have more strength if you eliminate the estrogen. Talk with your doctor before you pursue this particular line of supplement. Women should be especially concerned since estrogen is involved with so many other processes.
Body building is performed by millions because the physical appearance improvements can be terrific. However, it is a highly physically demanding sport, and so that’s the simple reason why so many take supplements. Working out strips your body of vital nutrients and enzymes and most body building supplements are designed to counteract that. Make sure you talk to your doctor and trainer before you start taking them. They will be able to figure out which supplements you really need.
