There are several reasons why we should keep our colons healthy, the most important being our large intestine’s role in eliminating organic waste from our body. The colon is shaped like a letter “M”, about 4 ½ feet long and 2 inches wide, ending at the anus. It is just below the small intestine, which is found between the live and the stomach.
The body stores our waste in the large intestine before it exits the body. So when the colon is compromised, consequently the body will have problems getting rid of the stored waste. Furthermore, a contaminated colon can potentially lead to other medical conditions such as digestive disorders, constipation, diarrhea, skin irritations (acne), and fatigue.
If done properly and with modern equipments, colon cleansing is a generally safe procedure. Before, enemas were used to cleanse the colon. Before, enemas were used to cleanse the colon. However, it was found that enemas can cause several cleansing safety concerns. Enemas and water irrigation are two different things, because only the lower 20% of the colon is cleansed during an enema. That means that the procedure is not as effective as modern colon hydrotherapy.
Most patients have three concerns when it comes to cleansing their colons.
Pain Does it hurt? That is the first question asked by most patients. Well, medically speaking colon cleansing is not at all painful.
Second, they want to know how deep the treatment would go inside their body. While enemas affect only the lower eight to twelve inches, colon treatments penetrate more deeply in order to provide a much thorough cleansing but is still relatively safe.
Third, am I at risk for infections? This concerned has been addressed, thanks to the modern equipments used such as the disposable pre-sterilized hoses and tips, which help ensure a germ-free colon cleansing environment.
Make sure that the colon cleansing procedure is done by a professional hydrotherapy expert, that way you can be assured that it will be a safe and successful one.
