You want to challenge yourself and add muscle. So you want to build muscle without weights by utilizing resistance. This will push you farther. You can add a weight belt around your waist if you are doing chin ups or a weighted backpack if you are doing push ups. But you will see more results quicker if you become proficient at one arm push ups and one arm chin ups. This way you can exercise with little equipment.
To build muscle, just become skilled at doing four or five difficult body weight exercises.
Pistol squats, hanging leg raises, or one armed body weight exercises will really yield some amazing results. Your body will be ripped beyond your dreams. If that becomes too easy, then you want to do your push ups with only your hand. This will make it even harder.
