How Low Self Esteem Creates Stress and What You Can Do About it Starting Today - Stress Management
Stress and self esteem are linked in much of the same way stress is linked to your physical health. Not only does low self esteem make you more vulnerable to stress, but chronic stress can deeply impact your self esteem.
Have you ever had one of those days when everything seems to go wrong? You wake up late for work. You spill coffee on your jacket on your way out the door. The car won’t start and you have a very important meeting in 30 minutes. When you finally drag into work there are a few extra projects on your desk. And the day goes on. In this example chronic stress takes a toll on your self esteem.
Exercise
Exercise is the first recommended stress management activities that will not require you to run or work out an hour everyday. Five minutes of exercise can even be called as management of stress activity as well, particularly if it is done consistently. Do you suffer from stressed out at work? When you feel that stress is building up inside you, try to take a walk around your building. We can conclude that physical activity is a time-efficient method to relieve stress.
Some stress management activities are also applicable in your home, chiefly if your children and spouse build up your stress. You can practice that through walking around your neighborhood, washing your car, pulling weeds out of the garden, and even washing the window. It will help you to relieve stress from your system.
No need to take more then 30 minutes on these stress strategies. Anyone can spare 30 minutes. So isn’t feeling better worth it?
Take a Reflection Walk
If you worry all day or sit at your desk for 8 hours then you need to take a reflection walk. Why not become an optimist for your thirty minutes walk. Although you may know exercise helps relieve stress, a reflection walk can help relieve tress and make you feel better about yourself at the same time. While walking consider these questions:
- What is working?
- What part of my life makes me feel great?
- Whom do I love?
- Where do I love to go?
- What is my favorite book?
- Who are the people in my life that make my life better?
- What are 3 of my finest memories?
Repetition is the key because it works. If we choose the way we think then we can choose the way we feel and behave. In the 1942 Classic movie Casablanca Humphrey Bogart memorable line in “Play It Again Sam”. Allow me to put my own twist on the line “Say It Again Linda”. And I do say it over and over again.
