Boost The Immune System To Avoid Getting The Flu

With more and more warnings emerging everyday about taking tamiflu to cure swine flu and seasonal flu, many people are looking for alternative ways to limit the effects that flu will have on their bodies. Other medicines are being looked at which can treat influenza, however we can do things ourselves to make our bodies stronger against flu carrying viruses. We need to boost the immune system so that the viruses which cause flu can be killed.

When there is a flu pandemic, including seasonal flu, we can take supplements for added strength against influenza. Natural products like liquorice, vitamin C and Echinacea are all available as supplements and really boost out immune function. Taking a supplement that contains a little bit of everything are the best supplements that boost the immune system available on the market.

Doing regular exercise will not only make us look better, our bodies will be stronger and our breathing better because we will be fitter. Being stronger means that our bodies are more able to fight off the flu without the need to use medicines and drugs, we will simply be strong enough to do it ourselves.

During times when we are most at risk from developing flu, such as during winter, we need to make sure that our diet is healthy and contains enough vitamins and minerals. We should be taking in more fruit and vegetables on a daily basis, at least our % a day. Reducing the amount of unhealthy fat we digest is important, and we need to keep up the amount of protein we eat. Good fats need to be part of our diet though, as this can act as a reserve if we are taken ill.

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the only way we can defend ourselves against seasonal and pandemic flu including the H1N1 virus known as Swine Flu.
